2009 - A new year

I have high hopes for 2009. For obvious reasons, 2008 was a shocker of a year for us - Nana's death, another ectopic and then the rollercoaster they call IVF, Nath's new job and the ups and downs of that (all is good now) and a few other little things that just added to the problems.

However, I must say that whilst I am glad to see the back end of 2008 I have learnt alot about myself, my marriage, my family as a result of all those trials. What an amazing husband I have and I am forever grateful for my fantastic marriage. I am truly blessed. Isy continues to show her resilience and resourcefulness, as well as how much of a delight she is to be around. I am in constant awe of her, she inspires me to be a better person every day.

So what will 2009 hold for us? We have deemed it "the year where things get done"....on our list are
*have a baby (or be well and truly pregnant by the end of the year)
*get the carport, driveway and fences done
They are the two main things, however we want to continue to make our family's happiness our number 1 priority. Other things don't matter as long as we continue to enjoy spending as much time together. That part should be easy, being around Isy is so much fun.

Scrapping wise, I am happy with where I am. Saying that I am applying to be on the DT at Scrapbook N' Bits. I love it there...

Oh I have other exciting news...Scrapbooking Creations are doing a piece on my "Artist in the Spotlight"....so stay tuned for when that will be out....I don't think till the 2nd half of the year.

We had a great time in Wollongong over the Xmas break and a lovely NYE. Here's 2 pages from the mini album I just did on our holiday.

I am starting back at SMF next week, permanent 2 days a week (Monday and Tuesday) and whilst I do have mixed feelings about it, I am truly happy about it...just anxious about a few things to do with home, uni, Isy, etc. But we will work it out.

Well that's it from me....hope your 2009 is a good one too!!!

Not long til Christmas!

Well it's December so of course that means 2 things
1) my birthday - 35 geez I'm getting old - had a fantastic day....got this amazing bracelet from Nath (thanks to Jodi for helping him out with the present).
2) christmas and our christmas phot shoot and putting up the tree.

Isy is getting into Christmas this year and had a ball with the photos....very impromptu...next year will dress her up and go all out!

Scrapping wise I haven't done much lately, been working on my christmas cards and haven't felt motivated till today do anything else....but I scrapped at Bon's today and did 2 pages (1 at her house and 1 later in the day).

All is good here...just getting ready for our long long drive to Wollongong :(

So busy...so much to do so little time!

Well the last 6 weeks have meant little scrapping (well less than usual LOL) and lots of uni work!

I did do a lot of scrapping for Bon's Game On...and I won (hehehe) Thanks Bon for my $30 prize! Here's some LOs from the Game On challenges...

Here's my 123 November LO. I know the photos aren't very scary but that's what I got when I asked for a scary face - too funny!

Here's Tam's sketch challenge for November....check out December Sketch at Bon's ...I will def be doing this one!

I'm loving my scrapping at the moment...

Here's some other stuff I've done lately...what do you think? Family news - not much...Isy is still very unhappy when we leave her at Day Care...but fine within 2 mins of us leaving. Don't what to do about this....and then there's the fact her ABC is under review so I may have to move her...will deal with this in the New Year.

The last 6 weeks!

I'm a terrible blogger!!!!

I've been scrapping quite a lot as well as working now for The Sidney Myer Foundation 2/3 days a week so the scrapping has been cut down the last few weeks. Isy goes to Day Care 2 days a week...she is slowly getting used to it...still cries when I leave her, but she sleeps well there

I've got news - I'M BEING PUBLISHED - in Creative Paper (the old For Keeps) in issue #75...keep you eyes peeled for Those Big Brown Eyes...

This is my take on Peta's October Sketch over at Bon's Scraps
A LO using the Oct girl kit from Bon's....it is great...plus Paper of the Month (the red PP).

THIS IS BEING PUBLISHED - WATCH OUT FOR IT IN SCRAPBOOKING CREATIONS #67

So here's some of what I've been doing...pretty happy with what I have done, I think I've sort of found my style...

This was for Fran's Sept CC Ch...which I won (with Em)....yay!!! I love it...I've subbed it...wonder if it will get snapped up!

THIS IS BEING PUBLISHED - WATCH OUT FOR IT IN SCRAPBOOKING CREATIONS #67

This was for Bon's Sept CC ch....I didn't win...but I loved doing the LO...I hate my handwriting though! LOL
These two are for Buzz and Bloom and the Paperific Expo....the new BnB is gorgeous...check it out here...I think I'm going to apply for the DT 2009...what do you think?

And here's my 123 Oct sample...I used the HS mask, handstitching (geez that took a long time), the colour purple and garden theme...it's also my LO for Sandie's Write Now (over again at Bon's Scraps)...this is Chevaun (my BGF) at my wedding...wow...we've been friends, good friends since 1986...22 years!

05 September, 2008

September already!!!

Wow where has the year gone? and it's been a month since I blogged...I'm soo bad, such a terrible blogger!!!

Ok well we went to Noosa...had a great time, even though we all got a terrible head cold which made Isy feral on the middle weekend. T
he weather was great, 22, 23 everyday, shorts, t-shirt weather...went swimming in the (heated) pool, Nath and Isy went in the ocean (silly silly people!!!), relaxed, read books, ate too much, drank lots of red wine...had a great time!

I'm trying to find a job at the moment...2 days a week would be nice, in an office, don't care what I am doing. I have applied for a few (about 6 I think!)
but nothing...not even an interview! am I over qualified!!! LOL Will keep on persisting.

Scrapping wise, I've done a fair bit in the last month...see my photos. I made it to the 2nd round of DT entries at Bon's Scraps but there were some very talented ladies over there, what a hard decision it must have been for Bon.

I'm trying some new techniques at the moment...like using paint, did some splattering too and stamping - see my LOs Just hold my hand and J
ust the 2 of us.

I got a card published in September cardmaps...which I was very happy about...my first thing published!!!

Here's a LO I did in a photoswap over at Bon's...I did this for Peta...hope she likes it!

Finally, here's some photos of our time in Noosa...just a few...not going to show you all 250 of them!

02 August, 2008

Sunny weather here we come!

I won't say it again, but geez it's been a long time since I blogged! I actually forgot to do it, so bad of me!

Nothing much has happened in our world over the past few weeks.
I've been doing a fair bit of scrapping (my scrapping room is a disgrace...after I finish this post I am going to clean it up!) and Nath has been working. Isy, of course, is still the same wonderful child, even if she is currently talking to herself in her cot and has been doing so for the last hour!

We are off to Noosa on Monday...we booked this in MARCH so we are very excited! It will be nice to get away from life at home, from the cold weather, and spend some time together, just the 3 of us with no pressure from work for Nath.

I'm applying to be on the DT for Bon's Scraps. We had to submit a LO with NO PP just CS. I'm realy happy with what I came up with. Can't show you what I've done though...it's a secret! I also got my 123 Aug Ch done on the first day, again, I'm really happy with this one...it's a bit different for me...in style and in the fact that I did a LO on ME.
It was quite therapeutic. I think that is what I love most about scrapping, it is very therapeutic for me, not just the putting together of a page but the journalling, the remembering. It makes me feel very blessed to have the life I have.

I hope you all have a great few weeks and I will see you when we get back...with lots and lots of photos to share.

123 Creative team and It's been sooooo long!

It's been sooo long since I updated my blog! Since last post we have been very busy...well I've been busy scrapping up a storm and Nath has been busy working...poor sod!!!

IVF has finished for us...no I'm not pregnant! The thaw cycle was cancelled (didn't work) so we have decided that is enough for us, we will just give it a go ourselves and see what happens. I know it will work out and I am positive I will be pregnant by the end of the year.

Scrapping wiseI have been doing heaps. A couple of weeks ago I had a little breakdown and was very unhappy with my work so I took some advice (thanks girls over at Bon's) and had a break for a few days, looked through my stash, went window shopping at some galleries and got some inspiration. Well I haven't looked back. My work might not be everybodies cup of tea, but I am loving what I am doing (and so are Nath and Isy). I feel more creative, I'm enjoying scrapping again and my study/scrap space is an ABSOLUTE MESS!!!! I even have new found confidence...so much so that I have submitted some of my work for publication...probably won't get picked but I'll never know unless I have a go!

I AM NOW PART OF THE 123 CREATIVE TEAM!!!! YAY!!!! I am really excited about this..I love the 123 challenges (and I am just slightly addicted to Funkstreet designs stuff!!!!!) so I decided to put myself up for being on this team. I completed ALL 4 CC challenges, plus the 123 July challenge and a most revealing questionnaire about myself. No payment, no freebies JUST THE GLORY OF REPRESENTING Scrapbook N'Bits on 123 Challenge.

Isn't this just the cutest pic of Isy! Taken by Charm Koch when we were over at Bon's.
